At Tokeepo, we treat every customer-supplied item with the utmost care and precision, ensuring your personal keepsakes are thoughtfully crafted into lasting memories. To maintain our high standard of quality while providing transparent service, our Bring-Your-Own-Item (BYOI) framework balances shop setup with the specific care required for your item.
Policy Overview: BYOI services start at a baseline of $30 per item. Final tier qualification depends on item material, surface geometry, artwork setup, and operational risk. All customer-supplied items require pre-production inspection. PVC, vinyl, and unknown plastics are strictly prohibited.

Terms, Material Suitability & Risk Acknowledgment
1. Strictly Prohibited Materials (Safety Warning)
For health, safety, and equipment integrity, PVC, vinyl, and unidentified plastics are strictly prohibited. Thermal processing of chlorinated plastics generates corrosive gas and toxic fumes that damage laser optics and pose severe health risks. Any synthetic or plastic item must be verified as laser-safe prior to intake.
2. Item Valuation Policy & Right of Refusal
Standard BYOI pricing ($30–$50 tiers) covers items with a reasonable replacement value of $100 or less. Items valued over $100, as well as irreplaceable, sentimental, antique, or highly fragile keepsakes, must be declared and processed under our High-Value tier with written authorization before work begins. Tokeepo reserves the right to decline any third-party item following pre-production inspection if its substrate, shape, or coating poses a safety hazard, machine hazard, or extreme risk of damage.
3. Inherent Laser Risks & Coating Variances
Laser engraving permanently alters an item. Customer-supplied items may contain unknown materials, synthetic coatings, or internal stresses. Materials can react unpredictably, resulting in variations in color, depth, or finish, as well as minor discoloration, scorching, cracking, or coating removal. For coated drinkware (such as YETI, Stanley, or Owala tumblers), factory paint thickness or uneven powder coating can directly affect engrave contrast and fine line crispness. Tokeepo exercises extreme care, but specific visual outcomes cannot be 100% guaranteed on third-party items.
4. Customer Authorization & Proof Sign-Off
Clients are responsible for approving all text, spelling, sizing, alignment, and digital proofs prior to production. All customer-supplied items require a signed physical or digital BYOI Service Agreement & Risk Acknowledgment form prior to commencing work.
